A SHORT STORY

A SHORT STORY

Part of my spring wardrobe shopping involved getting new shorts. And I pretty much hit the jackpot at Loft! Mine are all pretty old & maybe a little too short? The ones at Loft are only a half inch longer but seem to make a big difference in terms of not being booty-shorts but also not looking frumpy. It’s a fine line!

They looked quite nice all folded in my drawer this weekend. Because it may be raining & I may be headed north for spring break but darnit, my closet is ready for hot weather! That’s right folks, I switched over my wardrobe & packed away all those winter clothes. Let me tell you how depressing it was to once again put away my lovely skirts & pants that for a second winter I could not wear. Darn babies & weight gain! Luckily I have these shorts to look forward to, right?

4 ACCESSORIES TO TRANSFORM YOUR SPRING WARDROBE

4 ACCESSORIES TO TRANSFORM YOUR SPRING WARDROBE

When switching over my wardrobe the other week I noticed that I had a little collection of scarves & clutches going but that the foundation of my spring wardrobe was very much about the basics. After months of layering there’s something really fresh about having a simple jeans & tee look with a fun necklace or bright shoes, right? I think it also has to do with getting older in that the less I layer on, the better I tend to look. If you’re trying too hard to make an outfit work, it’s probably going to look it.

As for the key accessories to focus on for spring I definitely love a pastel scarf, a neutral bag with fun details, bright flats & a bold bracelet. It still looks easy & like you’re just thrown on your weekend clothes but it’s not boring. Plus you can rotate accessories easier (& for cheaper) based on trends than you can with clothing, so it’s a more budget friendly way to revamp your wardrobe!

MUST-DO FAMILY FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES FOR SPRING

MUST-DO FAMILY FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES FOR SPRING

After a winter spent indoors with a toddler I am really looking forward to being outside as much as possible! Plus Adelyn is now at the age where she can interact with what we’re doing, versus last year where she was just observing from her stroller. I’ve gathered up a list of fun activities for us to put on our calendars for April & May in the D.C. area.

Cherry Blossom Kite Festival. The Cherry Blossom Festival is a nightmare of tourists & chaos but it is really pretty. The Kite Festival is a good opportunity to take part while having some fun with your kids (though probably best for older ones who’ll appreciate kite flying).
